Transcranial stimulation in depression

This article outlines how treatment-resistant depression presents a clinical challenge: there are a high number of different neurostimulatory treatments that are currently in different stages of development. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has shown promises to be well-tolerated minimally invasive treatments for depression. This article reassesses the evidence and considers the cross over from the arena of research to that of routine clinical practice (Allan, et al., 2012).
